How did the Vatican II change the churches position on Sex

The vatican's tradition was to only let a couple to have sex to have children when they are married. The Vatican II then changed their views and now allow women and men to have sex for their reltionship or to have children. They also allowed birthcontrol to keep women to not have children. So they have can have sex to have sex.
